Stage 1-Frozen Products

Phase 2-Sublimation Drying
After the material freezes, the vacuum pump will start to draw in air from the drying chamber, creating a completely vacuum environment for the material. Meanwhile, the heating system raises the temperature. As the freeze dryer vacuum pump continuously draws air outward, the indoor air pressure will gradually decrease. Under extremely low-pressure conditions, frozen solid ice crystals directly skip the liquid water stage, sublimate into water vapor, and are then sucked away by the vacuum pump.
Stage 3-Analysis of Drying
Due to the fact that some water molecules are closely combined with the material structure, a single drying process often cannot completely ensure the complete evaporation of moisture. Therefore, after the sublimation drying is completed, we also add another layer of double protection for you – desorption drying. The vacuum pump used in the freeze dryer will keep working, constantly reducing the pressure inside the chamber. How to use a freeze dryer
The following is a user guide suitable for most freeze-dryer specifications:
Prepare materials
You need to select materials suitable for freeze-drying, such as solutions, slurries, or small solid pieces. If it is a liquid, it should be aliquoted in a dedicated container with a thickness controlled at 3 to 10 millimeters to facilitate sublimation. Check whether the materials contain volatile solvents or strong acidic components, as these substances may damage the equipment.
Load into the drying chamber
Open the door of the drying chamber and place the trays holding the materials steadily on the shelves. Materials must not be in close contact with the wall of the silo or the sensor probe. Count the number of pallets and confirm that the loading volume does not exceed the rated capacity of the equipment. Close the warehouse door tightly and check whether the sealing strip is intact.
Start the freezing program
Set the target temperature for the freezing stage (usually -40℃ to -50℃), and start the compressor. Observe the state of the material until it is completely frozen into solid ice crystals. This process takes approximately 2 to 4 hours, with the exact time depending on the volume of the material and the initial temperature. Incomplete freezing will lead to a decrease in the subsequent sublimation efficiency.
Turn on vacuum drying
After the freezing process is completed, start the vacuum pump to remove the air inside the chamber. At this point, the ice crystals directly sublimate into water vapor and are captured through the condenser. If the sublimation rate is too slow, fine-tune the temperature of the heating plate (generally not exceeding 40℃).
Transfer to secondary drying
After the primary drying is completed (the material temperature approaches the set value of the heating plate), start the deep desorption drying. Slowly increase the temperature. During this period, continuously monitor the pressure changes to prevent material collapse.
End and Sampling
When the online moisture meter shows that the standard is met (usually ≤2%) or the cumulative drying time is sufficient, turn off the heating and vacuum systems. After the pressure inside the warehouse returns to normal, open the warehouse and wear heat-resistant gloves to take out the dried products. Immediately seal and store away from light to complete this operation.
